NBA Teaser Bet - Thursday 12/19/2024

With the NBA season in full force, we decided to slap together a random Thursday night teaser bet for tonight’s slate. Check out the picks below, and let’s pray for an absolute scoring fiesta.
4 leg, 5-Point Teaser
Leg 1: Jazz @ Pistons - OVER 222
Leg 2: Thunder @ Magic - OVER 205.5
Leg 3: Pelicans @ Rockets - OVER 212.5
Leg 4: Knicks @ Timberwolves - OVER 209.5
Jazz @ Pistons
Utah is currently giving up 120 points per game, which is 3rd worst in the league, and advanced stats have them ranked last in defensive efficiency. Detroit is pretty mid on both sides of the court, but Cade Cuningham is a stud and they should be able to take advantage of an incredibly weak Jazz team who may already have their sights set on getting Cooper Flagg next season.
Thunder @ Magic
Two of the best defenses in the league would make you believe the under is the play here. WRONG. 205.5 is too low to pass up, especially when the Thunder have the star power and depth to make up for Orlando missing their two best scorers.
Pelicans @ Rockets
The Pelicans currently hold the title for “Most Disappointing Team” so far in 2024, and they’ve maybe already won that race. This is another squad with their hat fully in for the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes. That being said, they still have some offensive weapons who are also real defensive liabilities. The Rockets on the other hand have been one of the better stories so far this season, and we expect them to bounce back after a tough loss to the Thunder in the NBA cup. We love this over.
Knicks @ Timberwolves
We expect a high-intensity game here, with KAT returning to his former team and likely to put up some big numbers. Additionally, the Knicks have been a top-10 offense this year. On the other hand, Minnesota has been somewhat disappointing offensively in 2024, but Ant is a big-game player looking to prove that the team’s decision to make him the leader of this team was a good one. In a playoff-esque type setting, we could see these defenses step up a bit, but an over of 209.5 is just too hard to pass up here.
Optional Legs (for a little extra zest):
Lakers @ Kings - OVER 222.5
The Kings have smashed this number in 5 of their last 7 games and have a pace of play geared towards scoring. If AD plays, which looks to be the case, expect a dominant performance against a Kings team that doesn’t offer much in the way of interior defense.
Nets @ Raptors
Here’s a classic matchup of two bottom-10 defenses. This game might be ugly, but each team has enough offensive pieces to hit this over. Still, be cautious on adding this leg.
*Quick Note: Obviously, we didn’t touch any of the spreads in these games. This is due to the fact that NBA games are so high scoring, there is too much variability in the spreads and we want to avoid them as much as we can.
